The Grand Ledge 2023 Pep Assembly is what some students are calling unforgettable due to the announcing of homecoming court, games like tug-a -war and hungry hungry hippos as well as a surprise performance by principal Ken Wright.
Junior Sophie Cook chaired the Pep Assembly committee in Student Council. “Dr. Wright was telling the student council how he wanted to be in the Pep Assembly and I suggested that he do something revolving around Barbie due to the movie being so popular. It also worked out that his name was Ken,” Cook explained.
Students were surprised and delighted when Principal Dr. Ken Wright danced and sang with the Grand Ledge Pom team.
Dr. Wright sang the song “I’m Just Ken” by Ryan Gosling, while achieving many cheers from the crowd. “The Ken dance was SUPER cheesy, which is directly in my wheelhouse!” exclaimed Dr. Wright on his Instagram post about the routine.
