This February, fundraisers have been a significant focus. One  fundraiser that has gained attention is Singing Valentines This fundraiser has been ongoing for a while and remains one of the most popular fundraising activities at GLHS. The purpose of Singing Valentines is to raise Money for the choir program.

To participate, one can purchase a singing valentine to be delivered to a person of their choice, specifying the recipient’s hour and teacher.

Over 200 people have had valentines purchased for them this year. Anastazia LaGarde a sophomore stated ” It was fun but a little bit awkward. I would definitely do it again.”

The delivery typically involves either the tenor/bass ensemble or the soprano/alto ensemble serenading the recipient with songs such as “Happy Together,” “You Are My Sunshine,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,” “Electric Love,” and “You Are My Sunshine”.

For Teresa Herrera  they sung Can’t Help Falling in Love With You. The outcome wasn’t as positive as Anastazia’s “It was really embarrassing and I don’t want to participate again.”The sophomore stated

This fundraiser is efficiently managed by Sheri Petersen and are her own  Madrigals , and its success highlights the community’s support for the choir program at GLHS.
