Ashley Richburg is one of the senior captains of the track team. She has been doing track for since freshman year and has been on Varsity all four years. Richburg plans to go to Minnesota State and is hopeful to go on to the NCAA championships.
Richburg shared her responsibilities of being a captain,
“Helping the new people understand those tracks, not just playing around. It’s like actually a serious sport.”
She also talks about her own accomplishments.
“Committing to like go further in track like too college”
“I think I’m doing pretty good,” Richburg replied when asked how she’s doing herself this year
While track is an individual sport, it also is a team effort and that’s one of the things Richburg enjoys.
“Going to meets with the team and like the bus rides and stuff. Like last year we had a meet go to like 2 am. And that was…kind of fun just to be with everyone.”
