While presidential elections have seemed to take over the news, there are also some local elections, such as an open seat for a Mid Michigan Congress Representative.
Grand Ledge is a part of Michigan’s 7th Congressional District which is on the 2024 state ballot.
Tom Barrett is running as a Republican. Barrett is an Army veteran, who has served in the MI, Senate as well as the MI House of Representatives. He is running to help the middle class, decrease violence rates, and help lower taxes. Hertel was a Senator as well as the former co speaker for the House. Hertel wants to work towards common sense gun laws and help the Michigan auto plants.
The last candidate is Rachel Dailey, who is running as a libertarian. Dailey previ- ously ran for this seat in 2022. She is committed to individual liberty and the idea of freedoms, specifically American heritage freedom.
