Thursday, May 22nd was the Grand Ledge High School seniors’ last day of school. Each year, student council puts on Senior Send Off. The poor weather this year meant that the event had to be moved to the gym instead of the football field, where it is normally held. The seniors held many mixed emotions about the idea of graduating from excitement to melancholy.
Senior Daniel Thomas is going to Central Michigan University to study education and history.
“I’m excited for new opportunities.” Said Daniel Thomas
However on the other hand “I am going to miss seeing my amazing friends every day” said Daniel. Senior Katelyn Roberts is attending the University of Olivet and majoring in biology.
“I’m really excited to be graduating, it’s great to be done, I’m going to miss the people, my friends and seeing them every day.” said Katelyn.
Another senior, Prajeet Boinapally is going to the University of Michigan for movement science with the goal of becoming a physical therapist. “I’m excited to go to college at U of M and meeting new people” said Prajeet,
“I’m going to miss Ms. Read’s class, it was a lot of fun”
Senior send off is only one of the many events for seniors. There are many others like Senior Oscars, Senior Sunrise, and Senior Sunset
“I think senior sunset is going to be really fun,” said Prajeet.
All these senior events seem exciting from the outside, but does the expectation live up to reality?
“It was better than I expected, I did a lot more things than I would have expected myself to do” said Daniel, “My expectations were very low and it ended up exceeding them by a lot” said Prajeet, agreeing.
