Grand Ledge High School teacher Jason Westra-Hall was awarded the International Literacy Association 30 under 30 for 2025. This award aims to highlight the contributions of young professionals, educators, researchers, and advocates who are making significant impacts in literacy education. Westra-Hall was selected for his innovative work in teaching, dedication and commitment. Westra-Hall is very active in the GLHS student community, being the advisor of many clubs like GSA, Model UN, Diversity Club, and Orion’s Belt. He is also the advisor of the Yearbook Staff. Westra-Hall is an English teacher and currently teaches AP Lang. Not only has he won this award but he also was awarded the 2024 Bill Konigsberg Award which is awarded to those who advocate for marginalized youth through literature. Westra-hall is also a part of the Michigan Council of Teachers of English. Overall he has had an influence on his students and throughout GLHS.

Hi, my name is Ava Delaney I'm a Senior at Grand Ledge High School. This is my Third year on Newspaper and I'm the Copy Editor. This year I’m writing the Senior Season Column, stay tuned seniors! I love to write opinion pieces, I'm super excited for this year and to be a writer on the Comets' Tale.
In my free time I love to be active in Clubs some of the clubs I am the President of Women's Equality Club, Secretary of Eco Club, and Vice President of Women's Book Club. I’m also in NHS, Comets Landing, and more. This is my second year on Grand Ledge Girl Varsity Lacrosse.
